Bespoke Furniture
Traditional Joinery Workshop in Singapore with Exceptional Craftsmanship
Your Dedicated Carpenter
We are probably the last carpentry workshop in Singapore with extensive experience in Solid Wood Furniture.
There is a story behind each piece of furniture we ever manufactured. They are all unique, handmade, carrying their own idiosyncrasies through the grain of their wood.
It is truly our privilege to deliver furniture for a lifetime – everyday.
The Right Choice of Materials
As carpenters, we love Solid Timber: Oak, Ash, Walnut, Teak. We dry it, file it, carve it, sand it, stain it - until we get the perfect finish.
We also love to experiment. We try to enhance Solid Wood with other materials like Metal, Glass, Fabric, Marble or even Epoxy.
We love to try and develop new combinations in our workshop. It is our culture to be hands-on, from pencil to paint brush.
Mortise and Tenon
There is no short-cut for quality furniture.
Only traditional techniques and solid timber wood will give your chair the strength to last a lifetime.
For every desk we make, we build a solid wood frame. We reinforce corners. We sand carefully each angle by hand.
It takes a week to make a single piece of furniture, but you will enjoy each detail everyday.

How to Get Started?
What do you need to quote?
Price is a function of design, dimensions and materials. Best is to share a reference photo or a quick sketch of your project, and indications in terms of dimensions. If you want to use wood veneer, solid timber, laminate or another material, just let us know. We can quote for several options.

Do you work with solid wood?
We work with solid timber and we have our own stock of Nyatoh, Ash and Teak. Of course price varies: solid nyatoh is the most affordable option, while Burmise teak is the most expensive one. We have samples available in our showroom.

Can I customize the colour?
Our painter can follow our standard range of wood varnish, but he can also try to match your preferred colour. In that case, we make a colour sample with 2 options and let you decide. All our bespoke furniture pieces are varnished by hand in our workshop in Kaki Bukit. We can also spray paint. Visit our showroom for more info.

FAQ
What is bespoke furniture?
Bespoke furniture is furniture that is custom designed and made specifically for a particular client, space and lifestyle. Unlike mass-produced furniture, bespoke pieces can be customised in terms of dimensions, materials, wood species, finishes, hardware, construction and design. HomeShake creates bespoke furniture in Singapore for homeowners, interior designers, architects and commercial projects.
Why choose bespoke furniture in Singapore?
Bespoke furniture allows you to create pieces that fit your home precisely rather than adapting your space around standard furniture sizes. This is particularly useful for Singapore homes where space can be limited. Custom furniture can be designed for HDB flats, condominiums, landed properties, apartments, penthouses and other residential spaces, making better use of available space while complementing the interior design.
Does HomeShake make custom furniture in Singapore?
Yes. HomeShake specialises in custom and bespoke furniture in Singapore, combining experienced craftsmen with modern manufacturing capabilities. Our team can create furniture according to your dimensions, design requirements, material preferences and interior style.
What types of bespoke furniture can HomeShake make?
HomeShake can create a wide range of custom furniture, including solid wood dining tables, coffee tables, TV consoles, sideboards, bookshelves, display cabinets, study desks, beds, benches, storage furniture, bathroom vanities and other bespoke pieces. Custom furniture can also be designed to integrate with built-in carpentry and the overall interior of your home.
Does HomeShake make bespoke solid wood furniture?
Yes. HomeShake has experience working with solid timber and traditional woodworking techniques. Bespoke solid wood furniture can be designed around the characteristics of the selected timber, including its grain, colour, natural variations and movement. This allows each piece to have its own distinctive character.
What types of wood can be used for custom furniture?
Depending on the design and application, bespoke furniture can be made using different timber species, including oak, walnut, teak, ash, cherry and other suitable hardwoods. HomeShake can advise on the appropriate timber based on the desired appearance, durability, budget and intended use. HomeShake can also recommend wood veneers to achieve the desired wood grain.
Is solid wood suitable for Singapore's climate?
Solid wood can be suitable for Singapore when the timber is properly selected, seasoned, constructed and finished. Singapore's tropical climate has high humidity and temperature fluctuations, so professional timber selection and construction are important. HomeShake's experienced craftsmen can recommend appropriate materials and construction methods for Singapore homes.
Can HomeShake make furniture according to my interior designer's design?
Yes. HomeShake can collaborate with interior designers and architects to manufacture bespoke furniture according to drawings, specifications and design concepts. Our team can also advise on materials, construction details and manufacturing considerations to ensure that the design can be produced accurately.
Can I provide my own furniture design or inspiration?
Yes. You can provide sketches, drawings, photographs, mood boards or reference images. HomeShake can discuss the design with you and develop the appropriate construction, dimensions, materials and finishes for the proposed piece.
How long does bespoke furniture take to manufacture?
The manufacturing time depends on the size and complexity of the furniture, the selected materials and finishes, and the production schedule. After confirmation of design, our lead time is usually 4 to 8 weeks. Bespoke solid wood furniture may require additional time for timber preparation, construction and finishing. HomeShake will provide an estimated production timeline based on the requirements of your project.
